SPANISH MOSS
ABOUT ME
Technically, I’m known as tillandsia usneoides, but more commonly go by Spanish Moss. You can find me hanging in the trees down South or lounging in the tropics. Fun fact: I’m an air plant and don’t need soil to survive — the best “no mess” addition to your plant collection. I’m also an Epiphyte, which literally translates to “upon a plant,” because in nature I use my roots to climb and hang from other trees. A common misconception is that I only need air to survive - not true! I need sun and water, too, and absorb H2O and nutrients through my long, moss-like leaves.
THE LIGHT I LIKE
As a houseplant, I love bright, filtered light.
HOW MUCH I DRINK
I love humidity and need ample moisture to thrive. To water, heavily mist 3-4 times per week. My favorite spot is a sunny bathroom!
